Vision

Transport
Advocate for
ways to reduce the traffic congestion around the Bays in peak times.
Effective and safe feeder buses to the Bus way stations for us to use
Rail to the Shore because 60% + Shore Workers travel south of the bridge each day.
The Bays need alternative transport to the city a ferry connection would provide this.
Investigate bike ways especially for our kids to go to school and after school activities.
Retain as many parking spaces as possible around the retail precincts not only for shoppers but also for service workers who need short term car parks.

Business
We have a plethora of local business in this area and I think we should use these firms if we can. Some areas that might apply
Training
Maintenance
Building & Supply of materials
Supporting our sports and arts
Many of us don’t realise how much sport and the arts contribute to our economy and a positive reflection of who we are .

Housing
Quality Intensification
Affordable Housing
Using local trades and materials
Multi generational housing
Provide the infrastructure which mitigates traffic and utilities congestion.
Locally developed housing
We have suffered too long from bad buildings and restrictive trade practices thrust on us by Australian companies

Fiscal responsibility and Governance
Fiscal Responsibility
Not reacting to populist me too agendas but having a realistic appraisal of the activities and the long term investment return.

Not only a fiscal return but a social and amenities benefit.
Integrated targets looking at total life cost rather than spending our hard earned rates on initially cheap projects with exorbitant running costs.

Governance
Local Boards are responsible for communications with you to identify your needs and interests and translate those into local plans and bylaws and consider these interests in decisions made by our Local Board or report and advocate for these preferences to the Council Governing body or Council Owned organisations.

Community Involvement
support community co ordinators who do much to develop
safe and flourishing communities, who have acitivites where you get to know your neighbours and from that springs a protective and resilient society

Community assets depend on a lot of volunteer support for security maintenance and access without these volunteers our communities would not thrive.

The co ordinators provide administrative and support and resources to the volunteers. This has helped us in the Bays have a vibrant and cosmopolitan series of events
Environment
Protect the local parks and bush and beach reserves
Work with locals who have built up a knowledge of the local eco systems and preserve them for a healthier society.
Use the Green ways to improve our interaction with the natural environment
Protect the coast and estuaries by ensuring earthworks and construction use the mitigation processes laid out by the council
